Our recommendations for the care of alpaca fiber products
Your alpaca socks, mittens, and clothing are soft, warm, and durable… but they deserve proper care to last for years! Here is our selection of essential products to properly care for your alpaca fiber items.
Washing
Doing it by hand is ideal:
Use cold or lukewarm water (never hot) and a mild soap for delicate fibers.
Do not rub vigorously, gently press the fabric.
Rinse with clean water, at the same temperature as the wash.
Machine wash (with care):
If the label allows, use the "wool" or "delicate" cycle on cold water.
Place the item in a laundry bag to protect it.
Dry cleaning:
- For delicate or heavily soiled items, or items made of natural fur, professional dry cleaning is recommended.
Tip : By using suitable products, you will avoid felting, pilling and deformation of your items.
Special detergents for alpaca
Washing your alpaca with regular detergent may damage it. Always use a mild laundry detergent and always wash in cold water.
